Assam Medical College is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post of Counsellor under the project “Drug Treatment Clinic” funded by DDAP, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh is one of the premier and oldest medical institutes in the northeastern region of India. Established in 1900 AD as “Berry White Medical School,” it has been a pioneer in allopathic medical education.

Qualification & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Work / Humanities / Sociology / Psychology.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in counselling.
- Experience in drug/addiction counselling is desirable.
Salary: Rs. 15,000/- per month
Age Limit: 35 years
Job Roles:
- Undergoing training provided by the National centre/regional centres.
- Providing assessment and diagnostic services.
- Referring patients to appropriate services, including healthcare and social needs, and higher centres for substance use disorder management.
- Collaborating with hospital departments to increase referrals to the Drug Treatment Clinic.
- Conducting community awareness activities to encourage help-seeking behaviour.
- Establishing connections with NGOs for community outreach.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or equivalent software is essential.
Selection Procedure: Candidates are required to attend a walk-in-interview on 29th June 2024 from 10:30 AM onwards at the Department of Psychiatry, AMCH, Dibrugarh, Assam.
