Assam State Biodiversity Board (ASBB) Guwahati is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of Project Assistant (ABS) to support the ongoing implementation of the Access and Benefit Sharing Mechanism in Assam.
Name of Post: Project Assistant (ABS)
No. of Posts: 1
Remuneration: Rs. 25,000/- per month and traveling allowance, as per applicable government norms.
Qualification:
- Master’s degree holder in ecology, wildlife biology, forestry, environmental sciences, zoology, botany, or related subjects. (Candidates pursuing Master’s degree need not apply).
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Minimum one year of experience working with local communities in Assam.
- Knowledge of plant taxonomy and identification of flora and fauna.
- Experience in conducting surveys and data collection with minimal supervision.
- Ability in planning, supervising, and monitoring data collection and surveys.
- Proficiency in conducting Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), meetings, trainings, and awareness activities.
- Experience in preparing reports, communication, awareness, and training materials.
- Proficient in computer skills including data entry, MS Excel, Access, and related software applications.
- Proficiency in English and Assamese (oral and written) is mandatory.
