Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post of Helpline Supervisor at iCALL Psychosocial Helpline. TISS, Mumbai, an Institution Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, operates under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institute is committed to social justice and social change and offers over 50 Master’s Degree programmes across its campuses in Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, and Hyderabad.
Position Details
Name of Post: Helpline Supervisor
Number of Posts: 3
Salary: Rs.50,000 - Rs.58,000 per month. Additional self-care allowance of up to Rs.15,000 per annum and Mediclaim benefits.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must:
Hold a full-time Master’s Degree in Psychology from a UGC-recognized university.
Have at least three years of counseling experience and one year of experience in a supervisory role.
Possess strong communication skills in English, Hindi, and at least one additional regional language.
Demonstrate excellent academic and research writing skills in English.
Be willing to travel within Mumbai and to different parts of India for training and workshops.
Be comfortable working on Saturdays and Sundays, with a weekly off on a mutually agreed weekday.
Be willing to commit for a minimum of two years, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
Job Responsibilities
Providing counseling and supervision to a team of counselors.
Assisting with training and mentoring counselors.
Managing the daily operations of the helpline, including call and email inflow.
Supporting the recruitment and selection process for counselors.
Conducting training sessions for new recruits.
Identifying training needs and tracking progress of team members.
Assigning responsibilities within the team and attending debrief sessions regularly.
Planning interventions for team well-being and burnout prevention.
Conducting external training programs as required.
